Hello guys....before all thanks for making this forum, is very important for new producer have places like this to search and learn with pro's. One of the most problematics things in making good sound with some quality, for the beginners, is eq, this "big monster", and after all the things i have learned cut a litte here and bost a litte there my question is the same... how he have to see this before starting cut and bost... and how the best metod to do. How he have to organized this process, and one more question.... he eq first and put effects like chorus, etc after or make first effects and aft the eq????.....i now this is a very fuc..... problem but any tips is well coming......
Before i start saying that in EQ´ing you should do this you should do that... i would say that you should start to trust your ears firstly. Also a control room / accoustics here plays a very important role...
Obviously tweaking the eq parameters will make your sound sweeter/harsh depending on a particular layer. Let´s take a kick drum as an example. If you have a good source sample the sound should be positioned between 60hz to 3k if not then eq should tight it to this frequencies range in order to give more space to other layers. This eq´ing principles should be applyed to each audio track varying the frequencies depending on the sound layer.
Hopefully this article will help... Wishing creative productions ;- )
